The Race
Begun as a Boy Scout fundraiser in 2002, the Powell Spring 5k has developed into one of the premiere road races in Central Ohio. The outstanding course in a beautiful neighborhood, the professionalism of the race team, and the community feel of Adventure Park combine to make this a memorable event. Held annually the first Saturday after Memorial Day, the Powell Spring 5k is a great way to kick off the summer season.
Registration Limit
Registration will be capped at 500, so register early!
What to expect
- An opportunity to run in a great 5k race
- A beautiful Powell Spring 5k technical t-shirt (retail value $30)
- A race bag full of goodies
- A water bottle as you cross the finish line
- Free post-race fruit and bagels
- Award for the winners (84 overall!)
- Numerous prizes (gift certificates, etc) drawn at random
One Mile Fun Run - New This Year
- Cost is only $5
- Get to wear an official race number and timing chip
- T-shirts may be purchased for $10 on race day while quantities last
Racing Teams - New This Year
- Runners who are affiliated with an organization may run in the team competition rather than in their age groups
- Be sure to sign up as a team member at registration
- Times from the top three finishers from each team will be added up to see who got the lowest time
- The top five winning teams will be annouced during the awards ceremony
- There will be no awards for team competition, except for bragging rights
Other Activites
- Playground with lots of sand
- Basketball courts
- Skate park
- Jumpies play area
- Athletic games, like softball throw, free throw contest, long jump, etc.
- Runners who are affiliated with an organization may run in the team competition rather than in their age groups
